JEE Main 2020 Latest: Topper List Released, Result To Be Out Soon

JEE Main 2020 (April/September): NTA has declared JEE Main Topper on September 11.While the JEE Mains result 2020 is going to be released very soon at NTA official website i.e. jeemain.nta.nic.in. – Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is a national level exam conducted by NTA to offer admissions in B. E./B.Tech, B.Arch and B. Planning courses at the following institutes which are present across the country. a. IITs (Indian Institute of Technology), b. NITs (National Institute of Technology), c. GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes), d. CFTIs (Centrally Funded Technical Institutions). – The IITs, NITs, GFTIs, CFTIs are present across the country – The JEE Main counselling & seat allotment is done by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JOSAA). – After the exam, the top 2,50,000 candidates from JEE Main 2020 exam will be eligible to apply online for JEE Advanced exam. – JEE Advanced Exam is scheduled to be held on September 27, 2020. This exam is the gateway for admissions in IITs for around 11,279 seats.

Why Normalization? Since the JEE Main Exam will be conducted in various sessions and slots. The difficulty level of the exam will also vary. Now the question is how can you determine that student A has performed well than that of student B from different sessions or slots. To solve this problem, the candidate’s score will be normalized and converted into a percentile score.

Changes Made In JEE Main This Year: July 23: For admission in NITs & other CFTIs, a minimum of 75% marks in 12th Board exams or rank among the top 20 percentile in the qualifying examinations is required. July 17: Candidates clearing Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) will be eligible for admission in IITs, irrespective of their marks in class 12 board examination. The decision has been taken due to the partial cancellation of class 12 board exams by several boards.

JEE Main 2020: Exam Overview How JEE Main will be held this year? NTA will make sure that the Social distancing measures are being taken care of inside and outside the exam hall. Candidates are required to follow the Social distancing guidelines which can be found from JEE Main Admit Card:

So normalization happens in between slots but what about sessions? Even if the candidate is appearing for the January session and April (postponed to September) session, the normalization will be done. After normalization, the best of two will be considered for the final merit list. In case if the candidate has appeared for one session only (say January only) then the January percentile marks (which is normalized based on the slot that he appeared for) will be considered for the final merit list.

To check the result of JEE Main 2020, candidates need to login to the JEE Main result portal with their application number and date of birth. Candidates can also download JEE Main scorecard after checking their results. – JEE Main result 2020 will have the normalized scores of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and total marks secured by the candidates along with their rank. – Moreover, JEE Main result 2020 will have the qualifying status for students appearing for JEE Advanced. – The JEE Main result 2020 will also contain the score obtained by candidates in the first attempt held in January and the second in April (September this year). – The best of the two exam scores will be used to determine the All India Rank and All India Category Rank. – Top Institutes like IIITs, NITs, CFTIs, and other participating institutes accept JEE Main score and provide admissions in B.Tech and B.Arch courses based on JEE Main result.

JEE Main 2020 Score Card Along with JEE Main 2020 Result, the officials will also release the JEE Main 2020 scorecard. The scorecard contains details like candidates name, registration number, date of birth, etc. Also, JEE Main scorecard will display the NTA scores obtained for each subject. The AIR will be declared after the publication of JEE Main Result. The officials will consider the highest rank for the candidates who have appeared in both attempts i.e., January & April (September this year) sessions. JEE Main Cut Off 2020 NTA will consider various factors before releasing the JEE Main Cutoff. The list of factors considered before releasing the cutoff is as below: a. The number of candidates appeared for JEE Main exam b. Total available seat c. The difficulty level of the exam d. Previous year cutoff The JEE Main 2020 cutoff will be released by the officials of NTA to get admission to engineering colleges that accept JEE Main score.
