GATE Eligibility 2021 (Revised), Check Age limit and Qualifying Criteria

IIT Bombay has relaxed the eligibility critieria for GATE 2021 which now enables 3rd year candidates to apply for the exam if they fulfill the rest of the eligibility criteria. Also, from this year candidates can now sit for a maximum of 2 papers. All the eligible candidates can fill GATE 2021 Application Forms till Oct 7, 2020 by visiting the official website. Commerce and Arts background students can also apply for the exam along with Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ Science students. Candidates who possess certification from any of the professional societies (IE, ICE, IETE, AeSI, IIE, IIM etc) must ensure that those examinations conducted by the societies are approved by MoE/AICTE/UGC/UPSC as equivalent to B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Arch. / B.Planning, etc before applying for GATE 2021.

Submit a copy of any one of the marks sheets of the final year or Have to obtain a declaration from their Principal along with the signature and seal beforehand and upload the same during the online submission of the application form

Age Limit and No. of Attempts Criteria There is no minimum or maximum age limit prescribed to appear for the examination. There is no limit on a number of attempts to appear or apply for GATE. The major criteria GATE 2021 eligibility to be fulfilled by candidates is nationality and academic qualifications. The eligibility for M.Tech admission through GATE score may vary as per the participating institute. Eligibility

GATE 2021 Eligibility Criteria for International Applicants GATE 2021 will enable the candidates from Bangladesh, Ethiopia, Nepal, Singapore, Sri Lanka, and the United Arab Emirates to seek admissions to M.Tech or PhD courses in various IITs and IISc Bangalore. The all India exam will be conducted in the mentioned countries for applicants from these nationalities. International candidates are required to satisfy the following GATE Eligibility Criteria: Completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Master’s Degree in a relevant Science Subject. Appearing for the final year of the degree course are also eligible. The duration of the course should be at least 3 years.

GATE 2021 Eligibility for Candidates Having Backlog Candidates who have backlogs (arrears/ failed subjects) in any paper of the qualifying degree or have appeared in the final year/ semester examination in 2021 should do the following either:

mportant Notes: If a candidate has passed any one of the qualifying examinations as given above in 2018 or earlier then such candidates have to submit the course completion certificate/degree certificate/membership certificate/professional certificate and provisional certificate issued by the society or institute. If any candidate is expected to complete any one of the qualifying degrees in 2021 or later as given above then such candidate has to submit a certificate from Principal or a copy of marks card for section A of AMIE. Certificate from Principal: Candidates who have to submit a certificate from their college Principal have to obtain one from his/her institution beforehand and upload the same during the online submission of the application form.
